Our Story…
Ralph and Laura first met in a mutual recovery group just before the world shut down. A few months later, fate intervened at a very Portland vegan food cart pod in August 2021. When Ralph subtly mentioned plans for a hike in the Tillamook Forest, their friend Linnea declared:
“Oooo, maybe LAURA WANTS TO GO!”
The very next day, their first date was that 10-mile hike. Somehow, neither ran for the hills. Two weeks later, they survived a five-day backpacking trip in the Olympic Peninsula. Smiling through torrential rainstorms, wind and mud confirmed something special was unfolding.
Laura’s job took her to Hood River, but Ralph soon followed suite and moved to the Gorge. They eventually settled into their apartment with Simba, the sassiest co-pilot and Ralph-approved cat-dad training instructor.
Over the past four and half years, they’ve shared countless adventures —including a trip to Brazil —where Ralph proposed atop a massive, majestic sand dune, surrounded by crystal blue waters.
After multiple mountains climbed, trails muddied, and laughs shared, they’re now ready for their greatest adventure yet: a lifetime together!
